The land of China

Geography of China

Situated on the eastern part of the Asian continent, China is today one of the world’s largest countries and home to a fifth of the world’s population. Its vast land area measures over 50 degrees latitude and over 62 degrees in longitude, with a total land area of more than 9.5m sq km!

Its territory ranges from the cold temperate zone all the way down to the equatorial belt. The land is covered by forests, grasslands, plains and hills, and includes some of the world’s driest deserts and highest mountains as well as some of the best arable land.
