Shaun Bartlett

After Shaun left school, he went straight into work as a steeplejack apprentice in order to gain on-site experience. He studied at the National Construction College for a year and has, in all senses, ascended the ladder within the steeplejack industry. He enjoys the challenge of working as a steeplejack and he loves working outdoors.

Shaun is passionate about his job and keen for our apprentices to get a taste of what it is really like to be a steeplejack. As a foreman, Shaun is very approachable and has taught many beginners in his time but he’s also very tough. According to Shaun, a competent steeplejack needs discipline in all aspects of his life because, without it, his job will suffer with potentially disastrous consequences. He won’t tolerate lack of discipline and he’ll be watching our apprentices like a hawk.
