In simple terms, you have two options – private seller or professional dealer. The first could save money, but the second will offer more comeback. Either way, spend time inspecting the bike and don’t be hurried.
Check you are comfortable – do your feet touch the ground? Go for a decent test ride – if the bike is new, concentrate on how it feels to ride, its build quality and compare it to rivals. If the bike is used, listen for unusual clonks or rattles, check the chain and sprocket for wear and look for signs of misuse or damage.
