Securing your bike

Thieves target motorcycles – but if you follow these steps they'll find it hard to get yours.

Firstly, spend as much as you can on a decent lock – and always try to chain your bike to something. Also buy a disc lock – these attach to your brake disc and prevent the bike’s wheel turning.

If possible, lock the machine away overnight. If you have no garage, put a cover over the bike so it is less obvious. In either scenario, bolt a loop in the floor to lock the bike to.

Finally, consider an alarm – the flashing light will be a deterrent, at least.
