Stars are enormous celestial bodies, gaseous entities with a wide variety of masses, sizes and temperatures.
There are an estimated 100 billion billion stars in the universe! Over thousands of years, man has identified constellations of stars and given them names.
The Sun is the only star close enough to the Earth to be visible during the day and to look like a large, round disc in the sky. Other stars are so far away from us that they only twinkle in the night sky.
The twinkle is caused by their distance from us and the effect of our planets atmosphere.
