Follow day-to-day events in this two-part expedition to the site of Titanic. The following diary entries are from Leg 2 of the expedition. |

18th JULY: A FRESH START |
The second half of the expedition launches after a 10-day break. Once again, we head for the Titanic site aboard the Keldysh after resolving technical issues and putting out fires ... literally! |

19th JULY: CRITICAL PLANNING |
The next few dive days will be crucial to the success of the expedition. Much time is spent on carefully laying out details of what needs to happen. |

20th JULY: A SOLEMN MOMENT |
Arriving at the site of the Titanic stirs emotion, as I think of those lost souls of 1912. The day continues - business as usual - as we make final preparations for tomorrow's dive. |

21st JULY: ROUGH SEAS |
In addition to a number of technical issues, the weather works against us. The dive for today is scrubbed and we hope for better luck tomorrow. |

22nd JULY: LAUNCH DAY |
Launch delays in this sort of dive operation are inevitable. Mir 1 launches smoothly but Mir 2 is another story. |

23rd JULY: DOWN THE WIRE |
Mission success! Jim spent all night flying the bots around and shooting miles of footage. It looks like we'll be cutting it very close and editing until the very last minutes before the show airs. |
