From the elusive jaguar to the desert elephant, Ian 'Max' Maxwell is determined to track down some of the most elusive animals in the wild to get a closer look at some of nature’s most intriguing beasts.

Incorporating local superstitions, survival bush craft and his own tracking expertise, Max will need grit and determination to uncover the animals he wishes to find.

In each programme Max sets off on a tough track through the wilderness in search of an animal he has earmarked as being of special interest.

In the first episode, he heads to Brazil to satisfy his burning desire to see the only big cat he hasn’t yet found - the jaguar. Arriving in Sao Paolo, Max heads west to a working ranch in the Pantanal, the worlds largest wetland area, where he hones his jaguar tracking skills. 

After realising the true size of the big cat, as well as hearing stories from the local people, Max studies the tracks rigorously and becomes more determined then ever to discover the jaguar’s lair and capture a glimpse of this beautiful beast.

Throughout the series, Max will demonstrate his tracking and survival skills and give fascinating insights into animal behaviour, taking viewers along with him on some breathtaking journeys.
