Episode 1: A Boom in West Texas

Three drilling rigs enter the race for Black Gold, but they get off to a difficult start. Mechanical issues slow down the Viking rig. Peanut, the smallest Longhorn rig worker, has an accident that may keep him away from the oilfield for good. Big Dog oil rig driller Tim has a birthday he will never forget.

Episode 2: Keep it Drilling

Longhorn rig driller Gerald has problems with both his crew and his oil well.  Wayne and his workers on the brand-new Viking rig are finally making progress. Driller Justin and the Big Dog crew struggle to save what has turned into “the well from hell.”

Episode 3: Digging Deep

Gerald’s Longhorn crew has drill-bit problems as they close in on the prized oil. One of the workers on Wayne’s Viking crew has a career-threatening injury. On the Big Dog rig, driller Justin teaches the new recruit about life both on and off the rig.

Episode 4: Blood and Guts

Big Dog driller Justin has his first doubts about Derek, the rig’s most junior crew member. Driller Wayne and the brand-new Viking rig struggle to reach total depth. Gerald works his Longhorn crew hard during a rig move and one of his workers is injured.

Episode 5: Enough is Enough

Two workers are injured during Viking’s rig move. Justin and his Big Dog crew are struggling to finish their first well, and unreliable Derek is holding them back. On Longhorn, driller Gerald pushes his rig workers past their breaking point.

Episode 6: An Accident Waiting to Happen

The Big Dog rig moves to its new home, but old tensions still flare between Derek and Justin. The Viking rig overcomes killer snakes and killer hangovers to reach oil. Josh and his young crew take over on the Longhorn and oilman Mike LaMonica is not happy about it.

Episode 7: Hitting Bottom

Big Dog driller Justin is losing patience with Derek, the rig’s most junior employee. Josh and the young Longhorn crew drill into poisonous gas. Oilman Mike LaMonica rushes to the Viking rig when Wayne’s crew faces a crisis that could cost them the well.

Episode 8: The Big Strike

On the Longhorn rig, young driller Josh’s lack of safety precautions puts both his crew and his job in jeopardy. Tensions between Big Dog rig drillers Justin and Derek, finally come to a head. Wayne’s Viking rig makes an unexpected find and oilman Mike LaMonica might have discovered a new reservoir of oil.
