The award-winning actor and entertainer Johnny Vegas's unique abilities as a live performer are the stuff of legend. With his trademark potter's wheel and Butlin's-style singalongs, Johnny can rightly claim to be the first, and probably the only, performer to mix live pottery with extreme heart-wrenching pathos.
Since winning the acclaimed Festival Critics' Award at the 1997 Edinburgh Festival, and being nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award, (a feat never before achieved by a newcomer), Johnny has created a sensation wherever he has played, performing triumphantly to packed houses all over the country, and indeed the world.
He has recently co-produced and performed in The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists for BBC Radio 4. He also co-wrote and performed in the critically acclaimed play Interiors for the Manchester International Festival. He has been the star of the TV shows – 18 Stone of Idiot (Channel 4) and Dead Man Weds (ITV1).
Johnny is also known for contributing his unique brand of humour as a permanent team member on Shooting Stars, his acclaimed performance as Charlie alongside Paul Whitehouse in BBC2’s comedy-drama Happiness, and of course, is currently starring alongside his old pal monkey in the current PG Tips adverts!
