Investigation Discovery (DCL)

Discovery Channel is very excited to launch Investigation Discovery (ID) this July, every Friday from 7:30pm.

Investigation Discovery is the destination for fact-based investigative content about culture, history and the human condition from the past to the present. It will focus on the science of forensics and how it is used to unlock the real life stories behind some of the world's most fascinating investigations. This programming block on Fridays will feature some core series including CALL 911, CRIMES THAT SHOCK THE WORLD and EXTREME FORENSICS.

We will kick off this great new block with a exclusive Australian premiere series SOLVED. SOLVED presents a police officer's or FBI agent's dramatic investigation into a brutal, complex crime.   Forensic analysts, trace evidence experts, crime scene technicians, forensic document examiners, forensic linguistics, handwriting experts and computer forensic specialists add their incredible investigation techniques to help solve these compelling murder cases. In each episode, a mysterious homicide case unfolds through the first person accounts from America's elite law enforcement officers.

Episode Descriptions:

The Devil Within on Friday 24th July, 8:30pm (AEST)
16-year-old Sarah Johnson runs to her neighbour's house in Bellevue, Idaho screaming an intruder has shot her parents.  Sarah says she never saw the intruder and has no idea who would want them dead. Investigators suspect Sarah's 19-year-old boyfriend, who has a criminal history, to be involved with the crime. Sarah's parents had discovered their sexual relationship, and told him to stay away.  Then, police discover a pair of bloody gloves.  The blood on the outside is Sarah's mother's.  The DNA on the inside is Sarah's.

An Eye for Murder on Friday 31st July, 8:30pm (AEST)
Dr. Brian Stidham, a popular Tucson ophthalmologist, is found murdered in the parking lot of his office. Investigators focus on Stidham's former partner, Dr. Bradley Schwartz.  Schwartz was a known drug abuser and womaniser.  Associates say Schwartz was jealous and believed Stidham was stealing his patients.  One of Schwartz's former girlfriends tells police Schwartz "wanted Stidham dead."  Phone records tie Schwartz to hitman Ronald Bigger.  An ATM camera shows Bigger, a penniless drifter, withdrawing $10,000.  Both are charged with first-degree murder.  In a bizarre twist, another Schwartz girlfriend, a local DA, is fired for withholding critical information in the case.
