EPISODE GUIDE

The Merchant Royal

Set sail with Odyssey Marine Exploration, a company that recovers sunken treasure. The season begins at a secret location in the English Channel as OME's underwater robot recovers artifacts. But could it lead to the Merchant Royal's billion-dollar cargo?

The Real Pirates of the Caribbean

The Odyssey Explorer is on the hunt for the Merchant Royal , the billion dollar treasure ship lost at sea in 1641. But, things change when the exploration leads the team of scientists and technicians toward a different pirate ship. While exploring this new ship, OME discovers some rare artifacts which, as they attempt to unveil the identity of this new site, they just happened to stumble upon.

The 'Legend'

In this episode, Odyssey Explorer is moving onto its next target, codenamed the 'Legend'. Since its discovery early this season, the Odyssey crew has not been able to fully inspect the site. Now, visibility has cleared to let the team begin to examine the area in more detail. What they find could possibly end up being one of the most legendary targets of all time.

Turning Lead into Gold

A fresh crew comes on board and decides to go excavate a recently discovered U-Boat. However, their instincts tell them to keep moving and they land upon a new wreck which they nickname 'Danny'. After searching the site they discover valuable artifacts.

Malta

Odyssey is now on the trail of a paddle-wheel steamer that sank in the mid-eighteen hundreds. Code named 'Malta', this target went down in the English Channel. Political delays with the French threaten to make this hunt difficult, but OME tries their hardest to press on.

U-Boats

OME reaches out for the assistance of Axel Niestle, the world's foremost authority on U-Boats, to help them scour the English Channel. OME has been conducting surveys in the Channel and created a backlog of U-boat finds which they will now ask Axel to inspect. Excitedly, OME investigates six separate U-boats, solves several unsolved questions, and explores the timeframe in which these vessels were created.

The Lusitania

The RMS Lusitania became the first casualty of WWI when she was torpedoed in the summer of 1906. Thanks to a charter contract with the government of Ireland, the Odyssey is on its way to excavate the second most famous sunken liner in history. With priceless artwork on board, the team is on the hunt to find answers to unlock the mystery of why the famous ship sank so quickly. Environmental challenges make the task difficult, but the Odyssey team stays hopeful while exploring this beautiful and haunting piece of history.

Mysterious Site

The Odyssey team send their ROV, ZEUS to a small wreck site littered with barrels of unknown content. The dive began with a rough start when ZEUS' hydraulic power unit fails, forcing the team to recover her through tangled lines. Other obstacles also threaten to thwart the team's mission, but they stay positive and continue to search for their next big discovery. They finally come across some modern sea containers and are anxious to examine what's inside.

The Liberty Ship

The team is combing the far reaches of the ocean for signs of a valuable wreck. The team stumbles upon a potential high-value target when the magnetometer reading confirms a big metal wreck. They discover that the ship is possibly one of the most famous U-boats in history. They also proceed to another WWII wreck looking for an American Liberty ship called the Cyrus H. McCormick. However, issues with the ROV make this dive more difficult than the team had anticipated.

Secrets of the Silver Queen

The SS Laconia was once the jewel of the Cunard fleet. Now she lies off the coast of Ireland with a very valuable cargo on board. OME begins a desperate and dangerous race against the weather to locate the wreck with enough time to examine the site.

Return to the 'Legend'

In 2008, Odyssey Marine Exploration discovered Britain’s greatest historic shipwreck and solved one of the world’s most enduring naval mysteries.

Codenamed 'Legend', HMS 'Victory' was the direct predecessor to Nelson’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar, and was the largest, most sophisticated warship in the world.

'Victory' was lost in the English Channel during a ferocious storm in October 1744, which took its crew of 880 sailors and 50 volunteers from the noblest families in England, and one of the greatest Admiral in British naval History, the 74 year-old Sir John Balchin into the abyss.
