Wartime London: The people behind the places
Leopold Von Hoesch was the German Embassador in Britain for four years from 1932. He was admired by most British statesmen and was not a supporter of Hitler, or the Fuhrer's cohort and eventual Foreign Minister of Germany, Joachim Von Ribbentrop.

Carrots were the one vegetable which was in plentiful supply in World War II and as a result, they were widely-used as a substitute for more scarce foods and used in several ‘mock’ recipes like apricot tart.
