Udai and Qusai Hussein Sons of Saddam Hussein On 22 July 2003, troops of the American 101st Airborne, killed Saddam Hussein’s sons, Udai and Qusai. Hussein's sons died in a blaze of gunfire and rockets Tuesday, July 22, 2003, when U.S. forces, acting on a tip from an Iraqi informant, stormed a palatial villa in northern Iraq. The U.S. military claimed their deaths will blunt Iraqi resistance to the American occupation.
